Projects

I've always seen these hair things & wondered how the grosgrain ribbon was curled, sooo I looked it up online and of all things you basically bake it on a wooden dowel!
Weird to say the least, but they are cute.

Here is what they look like in action:

If you are interested here are further details on how to make them:
-Buy a 1/4 diameter wooden dowel from Home Depot/Lowe's/etc...
-Cut it into 3rds so it will fit on a cookie sheet
-Wrap grosgrain ribbon around so there is no spaces showing on the dowel (can fasten to the dowel with wooden clothespins, or I even used tape which worked ok)
-Bake in oven at 275 degrees for 20 minutes
-Remove from dowels
-From there depending on how long you want the strands, cut up the curl so you have all even strands (I cut mine in thirds again)
-Line the strands up (I did a bundle of 10), take some elastric string (I found this at JoAnne's, didn't have much success at the other craft stores finding it) and wrap it around the middle and pull tight. This will make it all bundle together. Turn & wrap around to other side & double knot & cut string.
-Line a hair clip (which I get from Sally's) with ribbon & glue the curly part on.
Pretty easy!

The other project was a little forced on me. We did a humanitarian night for enrichment which I was in charge of but ended up having a baby instead.
A bunch of projects were left undone so I ended up finishing some of them.
The below are jumpers that you can get the material already cut out at the humanitarian center, you just have to sew them up, border the neck & arms and put embellishments on them if you want. It actually was pretty fun and it makes you think of those who are probably so thrilled to receive something like this and how spoiled we are that we can run to the store anytime and be picky about the clothing that makes us look 'best'.

The Challenge

"Warning...if you have not read the last Twilight book & don't want to know what happens, don't continue reading this"

So I was chatting with Aaron about my last post for some random reason yesterday, and the conversation continued into me telling him I couldn't wait for him to see the last Twilight move (because we all know he definatley isn't going to read the book).
Well our conversation continued into me just telling him the basic plot of the book and as I was rambling through how Jacob imprints on Bella's baby, how Bella's pregnancy is fast & the baby tries to claw itself out of her womb, which is why Edward finally turns her into a vampire, and how the baby ends up being this super growning freak of a baby, I'm thinking in my head "wow, this sounds even more cheesy when you try explaining it to someone".
Anyway his reaction was just as I imagined it to be. It was awesome.

So my challenge to you if you want a good laugh is find a guy in your life & tell him the plot line to the last Twilight book...Guaranteed it will be classic.

You Decide

So I'm not really into this as most but we were at Sam's Club the other day and I saw the new book cover to New Moon with the movie picture and anyone that doesn't think Jacob with cut hair is a ZILLION times better looking than Edward is crazy.

Robert Pattenson or whatever his name is, is so icky. The more pictures I look at of him the more icky I think he is.

The funny part is I saw the trailer for new moon and thought they casted a different Jacob from Twilight, but no they just cut his hair and he looks goooood.

So I know most people are all about the Edward but after seeing the movie I'm thinking some people might switch over. Plus Jacob is 10 times minus the drama that Edward is...even though it is mostly Bella that is the most whiny dramatic...Anyway I posted the pictures so you decide...Plus wouldn't you rather be with someone you warmed you up instead of made you cold?
